Women are to keep silent in church!

1 Corinthians 14:34-35 Let women keep silent in the churches, for they are not permitted to speak; but they are to be submissive, as the law also says. And if they want to learn something, let them ask their own husbands at home; for it is shameful for women to speak in church.

PERSONAL COMMENTARY

1. Women are to keep silent in church
2. Women are not permitted to speak [in church]
3. Women should instead be submissive
4. If a woman wants to learn something [in church], they should not ask the question there but wait until they get home and ask their husband
5. It is shameful for a woman to speak in church.

When it comes to following verses from the Old Testament, the argument can be made that we are now under the "New Covenant" (even though that would then also make the 10 Commandments null and void). However, this is a scripture located in the New Testament that we totally ignore every Sunday.

You know what, I do beleave this is true and good but there are some issues; 1) Men have used this verse to keep women down for hundreds of years. That isn't the purpose, in the spirit there is neither male or female. 2) I do think that if men were being what God intended them to be there wives would be glad to follow them because they would see Christ in them and he is worth following. I woman has to give this place to a man, but men have tried to take it being unworthy. 3) There are alot of teachings in the bible that go against our modern mind sets, that in itself dos'nt mean
they are wrong, we ain't that smart, just look around.

This passage of keeping women silent in the Church is dealing with specific problem: Woman should not be causing a ruckus when business is being conducted, Paul simply instructed that women discuss it with their husbands at home.

The input of woman has been noticed in the Old and New Testament. Abraham was told, by God to listen to his wife Sarah concerning what to do about Hagar. There were woman who worked in the ministry along with Paul, whom her recognized and honor for overseeing the church. The first message of Christ resurrection was delivered by women. Jesus mother, Mary, litially, carried the word; for Jesus was the Word made flesh. The woman at the well, who Jesus went there specifically meet, became missionary and because she went into the city and proclaim the good news about Jesus, the whole city came out and revival spread among them.
I could go on to prove from Scripture how the Bible proves that women are included in the ministry and the great commission given to the church. Men and women, young and old, according to Joel, will be used of God in these last days.
I understand God's order and at the same time I am so glad to be a woman with the heart to do my Lord will. For those who believe that women should not speak in the church, they need to go read the whole bible to get understanding and wisdom. The proof is undeniable. God uses any vessels that is yielded to Him. I know if He used a donkey (remember Balaam?) and a rooster, surely He will use whomever He choose. I am glad this is God's call and not left for man to decide.

dude, be careful! if the blokes in the mainstream religious institution catch up with you, they will burn you at the stake. This was what Jesus did and got himself crucified.
