How a woman should dress!

1 Timothy 2:9 In like manner also, that the women adorn themselves in modest apparel, with propriety and moderation, not with braided hair or gold or pearls or costly clothing,

PERSONAL COMMENTARY

1. Women should dress modestly
2. Women should NOT braid their hair
3. Women should NOT wear gold
4. Women should NOT wear pearls
5. Women should NOT wear costly clothing

(see also 1 Peter 3:3)

This is one of my favorite scriptures. It sure saves me a lot of money.

Hey don't dress to impress-you never do, I am sure.

Paul,

You are stooping to an all time low. Now you are ridiculing God's Word. I guess there is no end to what you will do to try to discredit God and His church. It is a shame!

Does this apply to the Gold Crosses millions of christian Men and Women wear everyday? If so, does this daily sin outweigh the good deeds done by those faithful christians on any given day?

Secondly, is it a sin to sell a christian woman a gold cross to wear, knowing God forbids this adornment.

Lastly, A golden wedding ring would have the same sin. How is it possible, that the moment a man puts a 2 month salary engagement ring on a potential brides finger, he is damning his beloved to commit sin. During the Wedding, a second ring is added in front of God, family and friends.

How is this not a direct sin against the word of god, in his house and in front of his representatives?

This is meant to tell all that beauty comes from within and you don't need the outward adornments to make you beautiful. Sadly that is the only way some people see others. And if that is how you see this scripture, well enough said.
