Is God good and holy or jealous, unforgiving, and a terrorist?

Joshua 24:19-20 Joshua said to the people, "You are not able to serve the LORD. He is a holy God; he is a jealous God. He will not forgive your rebellion and your sins. If you forsake the LORD and serve foreign gods, he will turn and bring disaster on you and make an end of you, after he has been good to you."

PERSONAL COMMENTARY

Sometimes it gets confusing if God is good and holy or jealous, unforgiving, and a terrorist.

Your bias betrays you, Roopster. :)

The cause and effect here is so simple even a child could grasp it: "If you do this, then I will do this." How many times did God warn the Israelites about worshipping idols and how many times did the Israelites ignore this most blatant commandment? The Israelites were authors of their own destiny. God told them what would happen if they forsook him and yet they chose to do so anyhow.

Why God gets blamed for punishing people when the people He punishes understand the outcome of their actions is beyond me. The only culprit in all of this is man, yet the finger is never pointed in this direction. Why?

What about the story of Job? He did everything right, but an insecure, horrific god wiped him out on a bet with the Devil.
