Saul prophesies naked

1 Samuel 19:23-24 So [Saul] went there to Naioth in Ramah. Then the Spirit of God was upon him also, and he went on and prophesied until he came to Naioth in Ramah. And he also stripped off his clothes and prophesied before Samuel in like manner, and lay down naked all that day and all that night. Therefore they say, “Is Saul also among the prophets?”

PERSONAL COMMENTARY

Earlier we read that God instructed Isaiah to walk naked and barefoot for 3 years. Here we see Saul prophesying naked before Samuel than laying naked all that day and night.

Can you imagine if any of this happened today? We'd be confined to a mental asylum.

i love the abstractedness of the bible.

the guy got naked. therefore they said "dont you think he's a prophet?"

what is that "therefore" anyway?!

What about the whole thing regarding nakedness as a sin? Such as: When Noah comes out of the flood, gets drunk and naked in the tent, and Canaan becomes cursed by God when he accidentally sees Noah's junk? Were these Prophets, who were running around naked, inadvertently cursing all those who happened to spot their circumsized dicks flopping in the wind? Maybe they were just free spirits. Or the buckles of their belts were cold against their flesh. I've had those days for sure.

Maybe it was a matter of size... or color... or shape.

Maybe only good looking genitals were allowed to be naked...

...what?

Hey Anonymous, it wasn't that Noah was naked, (that's no sin), it was because he went out and told his brothers (exposed the nakedness/shame) and didn't deal with it honourably. His brothers fixed up the problem and covered their Dad, walking backwards if I do so remember correctly.

I'm so sick of these kind of responses! just because you're a perv it doesn't make the Bible not true.
