Great scripture. No different than the ancient eastern idea of Yin/Yang.

Of course most christians will have a huge issue with it as the devil is to blame for death and sin or lack of faith is reason bad things happen.

OT scripture like this screws up 99% of modern christian doctrine.

More please.

We need to screw up 99% of modern Christian doctrine because 100% of that 99% is wrong. :)

The devil doesn't kill, the devil doesn't make people to sin, and lack of faith isn't the reason bad things happen.

But you're all looking up the scripture wrong. God is saying he operates in a recycling order: The animals are allowed to be killed by one another, then fed to the beasts that murdered them to be disposed of as a resource for living. Then, if that doesn't happen, their natural bodies break down into nourishment for the planet's plants, then the plants are eaten by more animals to give them energy as well as other health benefits. You already know the cycle goes into a circle of temporary struggle. Twisting this scripture to portray God its/himself, let alone the Judaist/Christian idea of God, to show why you shouldn't believe in such a religion is easy to do with most parts of the bible, if you take them out of context.

TL;DR: Basically, this scripture is saying God has made current life follow a law: Old Things must pass for the New Things to come, and the modern Christian doctrine says that it's because of the fall of man that the tree of life is guarded from us, and God allowed the lifespan of humans to shorten. Imagine criminals living to be 980+ years old. You think God, let alone the rest of society, would like that? Hell, the government kills humans however it wants for whatever. No reason to hate God for doing so with a good enough reason he came up with.
