Extreme Violence!

2 Chronicles 25:12 Also the children of Judah took captive ten thousand alive, brought them to the top of the rock, and cast them down from the top of the rock, so that they all were dashed in pieces.

PERSONAL COMMENTARY

Of course this does not specifically state that God commanded the children of Judah to commit these violent acts. However, earlier in the chapter, it does state that Amaziah, who was leading Judah's efforts here, "did what was right in the sight of the Lord." This is one of the verses from the Old Testament I try not to meditate on.

Many people in Scripture did what was 'right in the sight of God' but this doesn't in any way mean that every thought and action they carried out was perfect. For example, later on in this chapter, Amaziah worshipped idols and God's anger was kindled against him (vs. 15).

It's no different today. Those who will ultimately be judged worthy will have lived a life pleasing to God but this life will also have been dotted with countless sins.

"perfect"?!
chucking PoWs off a cliff is not v close to what I would say is "good"... and were these children punished? probably not.

i wish one of my "countless sins" could be to commit mass murder and get away with it!
